A Haven for Elephants and Rhinos, The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Nairobi

It is actually in Nairobi! I didn’t know :-/ I had heard of an Elephant and Rhino Orphanage, but always assumed it was far, or inaccessible, but it’s really just there and completely worth the visit!

Info & Logistics:

  • Visiting hours are STRICTLY 11 am to 12 noon. It is recommended to arrive by 10:30 if you want a good view.
  • We used the entrance off Magadi road (Opposite Multimedia University)..It is a significant distance from the main road.
  • Entrance is 500 ksh for all visitors

I would advise combining this visit with other activities or sites in the area (including a visit to Rolf’s place, you can read about it on my leisure page). The speaker gives some information about the various orphaned elephants. You will certainly learn something new, I won’t spoil that for you ūüėČ

I give you.. Bottytrekks!

It has been S-U-C-H a long time coming. For almost 3 years I told myself that I need to get this started, and for 3¬†years, I procrastinated. BUT, here we are now. Of course it will take a while for me to get into the routine and learn how this ‘blogging’ business works, but gosh am I excited!

I invite you all to join me on my various escapades, activities and of course my culinary adventures.  This is only the beginning!
